John has followed his passion for design throughout his career. Trained as an architect and archaeologist, for many years John worked as a preservation architect and visitor experience designer. He has traveled extensively all over the world and has applied his love of exploration and design to creating objects that meet the needs of daily life but also elevate and enhance it. All aspects of his education, professional development and career are linked by a passion for quality, sustainable design, and a respect for the context of the environment in which his designs will be used. He approaches the design process as a balance between theory and practice, first focusing on disciplined research and analysis of the current challenge or inspiration followed by an exploration of concepts and material expression.

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.
— Henry David Thoreau
